My approach is compassionate, authentic caring and tailored to suit the individual. I draw from several therapeutic techniques based on your needs, then build a therapeutic alliance from which the healing takes place.
I have experienced my share of trauma, anxiety, self-doubt and life challenges. With life and all its vast opportunities for growth, I know when armed with knowledge and support our struggles can shape us into stronger, more resilient individuals.
I am committed, passionate, insightful, and hard-working. I am driven to be the best therapist I can be. I have a thirst for knowledge and a deeper understanding of therapeutic issues that might arise for clients, and I will not shy away from people with difficult diagnoses or issues. I work with clients looking to improve their mental health issues to learn coping skills when faced with major stressors, life changes and transitions. Working with me as your counsellor I will provide you with new techniques and skills to help you navigate daily activities and relationships.

Cognitive Behavior-Therapy is a practical, short-term form of psychotherapy. It helps people to develop skills and strategies for becoming and staying healthy. CBT focuses on the here and now, on the problems that come up in day-to-day life. CBT helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them and how these perceptions affect the way they feel. 12 session coaching program is available.
My approach is not to create problems where there aren't any. This is often a struggle for couples to come to counselling, when one wants to attend while to other partner may be afraid to highlight or bring up issues that require some form of change and stay with the status quo. My approach to couples counselling is not to determine who is right and who is wrong or to assign blame. I will not be choosing sides. But during the sessions (10-12) we will be creating solutions and learning new skills based on what your own unique needs are as a couple and assigning homework to practice the skills learned. I have found my methods of delivering couples counselling to be quite effective. My goal is to strengthen the communication between the couple to reach a point of no longer requiring regular counselling.
"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system." Gary Craig EFT Founder
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is used for all types of trauma, negative emotions, unhelpful behaviours (addictions, food cravings etc.).
EFT is a technique developed using ancient Chinese Medicine combined with modern psychology, EFT arms those individuals who have experienced traumatic events and emotions. EFT is referred to as the cousin to acupuncture. Clients can learn the techniques easily and are encouraged to use them to process their emotions at any time. EFT is an effective, non-medical approach that is safe and easy to use. Information about EFT is easily accessible to individuals wanting to learn the techniques to get started. However, those who really want to do “the heavy lifting” would benefit from having a therapist on their team, most are amazed at what a difference it makes.
Evidence-Supported method designed to help tackle Anxiety and Trauma Survivors and their families. EFT activates the mind body connection for restoring health and well-being.
In the counselling session, I will spend time talking with clients and offering support in areas such as addictions, relationships, abuse and trauma and family matters. l will then begin the tapping portion of the therapy session and provide you with resources to empower you to take control of your wellness. A typical EFT session is half talk therapy and half tapping/treatment.
