I am a committed therapist, and my goal is to help you take self-care to a deeper level. No matter the struggle you are dealing with, I provide a non-judgmental and empathic space to listen and for you to explore your feelings. I use an integrative approach to help you work identify and work toward your goals, by using mindfulness, person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and other trauma-informed modes of support.
Anxiety, whether or not it has been diagnosed as a disorder is the most common mental health concern among people, including children, youth and adults. I will work with you to your improved mental health and overall well-being.
In this process I walk with you through difficult emotions using experiential exercises that help process and release blocked emotions, personal growth and healing will then begin. I provide support with developing new skills, education, tools, and new behavioural patterns that empower you to have an improved quality of life.
I use effective interventions from an Attachment framework to get to the heart of your problems. I can help couples and families see their partners and family members through a more compassionate lens by gaining a better understanding of their individual needs and values, encouraging each other to listen for understanding.
I help navigate difficult conversations and teach communication skills that can repair relationship injuries and bridge the way back to connection. Back to a feeling of safety and belonging.
My approach is not to create problems where there aren't any. This is often a struggle for couples to come to counselling, when one wants to attend while to other partner may be afraid to highlight or bring up issues that require some form of change and stay with the status quo. My approach to couples counselling is not to determine who is right and who is wrong or to assign blame. I will not be choosing sides. But during the sessions (10-12) we will be creating solutions and learning new skills based on what your own unique needs are as a couple and assigning homework to practice the skills learned. I have found my methods of delivering couples counselling to be quite effective. My goal is to strengthen the communication between the couple to reach a point of no longer requiring regular counselling.
I offer virtual counselling for individuals and couples/family therapy 6 days a week. This provides you with options for how you would like to proceed with the counselling experience.
Should you choose virtual counselling you won’t need to worry about commuting to an office and can simply access therapy in the comfort of your home with your phone or computer. Moreover, remote therapy assists in reducing the time in fitting a counselling session into your schedule and allows for flexibility. Lastly, if you struggle with leaving your home due to physical or emotional reasons, you still have access to the care that you need, with Virtual sessions available Monday to Saturday, select Book Now to see available times.
